What is Plas Panteidal ?
Its a small estate on a hillside overlooking the River Dyfi (Afon Dyfi) on the west coast of Wales just inland of Aberdyfi. The entire estate is inside Eryri National Park (formerly called Snowdonia National Park). There is a mix of over 90 bungalows and chalets, some residential and some used as holiday accommodation. All the properties are privately owned and the remainder of the estate and services on it are owned by a company called Plas Panteidal Estate Management Limited (PPEML).
How do I get there ?
There is only one access road to the estate. It runs from the A493 between the villages of Pennal and Aberdyfi. Please be careful on the road, it is steep and narrow in parts with passing places for vehicles. There is a bus service 'G21' from Machynlleth and Dolgellau that passes the turning and the driver will pick up and drop off on request. Trains run on the scenic Cambrian Coast Line close to the estate but the nearest stations are at Machynlleth (8 miles east) and Penhelig (2 miles west).
The Postcode for the whole estate is LL35 0RF.
Who runs Plas Panteidal ?
Property owners are responsible for the upkeep of their own buildings but the estate as a whole is managed by PPEML subject to the restrictions enforced by Gwynedd Council and Eryri National Park. You can read more about the company by clicking the link in the navigation bar or here.
